Christian Vernon
Toronto Lawyer

Mr. Vernon is an associate with the firm.  He practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, employment law, and administrative law.

Mr. Vernon appears before courts and administrative tribunals on behalf of diverse clients, and he works closely with the Partners of the firm on matters before various levels of provincial and federal courts and tribunals.

Before joining Pinto Wray James LLP, Mr. Vernon completed his articles by clerking for the Office of the Chief Justice of the Superior Court in Toronto.  While there, he conducted extensive legal research for the judges of the Court on many administrative, civil, and appellate matters.  As a clerk, Mr. Vernon attended a wide range of hearings where he observed cross-examinations, contested motions, jury instructions, and arguments.  He also conducted research on policy issues and procedural matters, and he delivered a presentation to the judges of the Court on a current issue in legal scholarship.  He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2008.

During law school Mr. Vernon served as the Executive Editor of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review, and on the Senior Board of the Indigenous Law Journal. He also volunteered at the University of Toronto’s community legal clinic, and for the Artists’ Legal Advice Service.  He has been the recipient of a number of academic awards and scholarships, including the Osgoode Society Prize in Legal History.
